KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has warned that his party would quit the government if it does not get the home ministry.
According to Baluwatar sources, Chairman Lamichhane left Baluwatar in anger, after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal did not give his word that the RSP would be given the home ministry.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal expressed readiness to give any other ministry to the RSP instead of the home ministry. But Lamichhane reportedly insisted that his party be given the home ministry.
Earlier, former deputy prime minister and home minister Lamichhane reached Baluwater to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Dahal to claim the home ministry. He stepped down from the post after the Supreme Court found him guilty in the citizenship case.
