KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is to give his statement to the parliamentary special committee regarding the misappropriation and embezzlement of cooperative funds.

A central member of the RSP said, “The committee has summoned Lamichhane on August 23 to take his statement.” Lamichhane, who is also a former deputy prime minister and home minister, is accused of being involved in the misappropriation and embezzlement of cooperative funds.
Meanwhile, the RSP has given the last chance for an explanation to suspended General Secretary Mukul Dhakal. Earlier, the RSP had removed him from other positions, rendering him an ordinary member.
