On Thursday Sarita had informed police and media that two unidentified youths had snatched her bag containing 1 million rupees from her while she was going to Rajabiraj to transfer the ownership of a land that she was going to buy.

It has been revealed that Sarita, of Mahadeva-3, concocted the story to swindle her husband, who works in Malaysia and sends money home regularly.

Police sources said Sarita and Chotelal were in illicit relationship for long. Both of them had weaved the false story of robbery so that they could spend it as they please.

Police learnt about the truth after Sarita retracted her statement within 24 hours. It was also revealed that Chhotelal´s wife had left him one and a half years ago after she learnt about the illicit relationship. She now lives at her parents´ house.

Sarita during interrogation by police had given another false statement that the robbed money belonged to her sister. But the sister denied having lent any money to Sarita.
