ITAHARI, Oct 29: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa has claimed that a situation has created that his party would win unexpected number of seats in the next Constituent Assembly (CA).

Addressing a press meet organized at the Itahari-based Swagat Hotel, Sunsari, on Tuesday, leader Thapa said the agendas of ´Hindu nation Nepal´ and ´completely ceremonial monarchy´ put forth by the party has created a positive wave among the people.[break]

The RPP-N Chairman is here in course of the Mechi-Mahakali National Unity March (Yatra) launched by the party.

"No one can deny RPP Nepal emerging as a powerful party after the CA election," he said, adding, "General people who are irritated due to the activities of the four major political parties are seeking their alternatives. They are sure that the four parties can give nothing to them and we have won their trust."

He further said that it was really unfortunate that there was no national unity regarding the CA election, an important means of taking the nation ahead.

He expressed his confidence that the party would win many seats under the proportional representation system in the November 19 election.

The four parties have still not come up with clear agendas for drafting a new constitution and there is no guarantee that the next CA will promulgate a new constitution, he said, adding that the first CA failed to give a new constitution to the people due to the dominance of the Nepali Congress, the CPN (UML) and the Madhes-centric parties there.

He further accused the UCPN (Maoist) of preventing the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist from taking part in the election.
