JANAKPUR, March 16: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) and Lok Kalyankari Janata Party (LKJP) have merged amidst a function held in Janakpur, Monday. Chairman of RPP-N Kamal Thapa and LKJP chairman Kishori Mahato read out the merger agreement between the two parties.

Both parties have expressed a commitment to democracy. Speaking on the occasion, RPP-N chairman Thapa said that the merger was necessary to build a strong nationalist party for fighting various kinds of challenges plaguing the country.
Thapa alleged that the incumbent Maoist-led government had utterly failed to restore peace and maintain effective law and order in the country. He also alleged that the Maoist had been able to institutionalize extreme communism thanks to the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist and Leninist.
