NEPALGUNJ, June 30: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) mayoral candidate Dhawal Shamsher Rana is taking the lead in an unprecedented manner in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City.

In ward-1 of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, 1500 votes have been counted thus far. Rana is leading CPN(Maoist Center) mayoral candidate Damodar Acharya with 482 votes, compared to 345 votes garnered by Acharya.
Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Suresh Kumar Kanodiya is following Maoist Center mayoral candidate with 246 votes. Likewise, CPN-UML mayoral candidate Sama Suddin Siddiki is in the fourth position. What is interesting is that Ward-1 is considered as UML’s stronghold. Given the organizational structure, RPP had been expected to be in the fourth position.
