Fultkra won the toss and scored 150 runs losing seven wickets.[break] Sitanshu Pandey scored 28 runs that included four sixes. Shahil Rana, Saoubhagye Bhusal and Subendu Pandey scored 19, 18 and 17runs respectively for Fultkra. None other batsmen were able to touch the double figure. Nabin Shahi and Rahul Silwal took two wickets each while Rajiwan Ansari and Samu Khan shared a wicket apiece for Royal Sports.
The man-of-the-match declared Mahesh Chhetri´s unbeaten 59 runs off 53 balls guided Royal to defend their title. Afaaf Shek quick-fired 34 runs off 27 balls as they achieved the target in 18.2 overs losing three wickets. Rupesh Sharma scored 29 runs while Anudhin Ansari put 12 runs on board. Subendu Pandey grabbed two wickets and Saud Anshari took a wicket for Fultkra.
Subendu Pandey took home the man-of-the-series award. He was given 21” color television as a reward. Nabin Shahi was named best bowler, Shankar Khadka best fielder and Mahesh Chhetri best batsman of the tournament.
Superintendent of police, Mahesh Bikram Shah awarded the winners Royal with a purse of Rs 10,000 from his personal fund.
Lalitpur tops table
Lalitpur continued its dominance in the Pepsi Regional Selection T-20 Cricket Tournament with back to back win on Tuesday.
Lalitpur topped the points table with six points after defeating TU by 34 runs while Nuwakot beat Kathmandu by seven wickets. Firing 61 runs from Sujan Maharjan in 41 balls helped Lalitpur post 141 runs on board losing six wickets in the three-overs reduced match.
Prashanna Shakya scored 27 runs off 13 balls. Sudeep Sharma and Anil Adhikari took two wickets each for TU.
Umesh Bhatta´s 33 runs could not help TU to meet the target as they were restricted at 107 runs losing six wickets. Prabin Shakya grabbed three wickets while Jeebalal Bhattarai took two.
In another match, rain favored Nuwakot as they reached the target of 38 runs in five overs through parabola method. Kathmandu´s inning was interrupted in 17 overs with 116 runs on board losing five wickets after the inning was called off by the umpires. Indra Kamal Manandhar scored not out 33 runs off 32 balls for Kathmandu.
Nuwakot scored 40 runs in five overs losing three wickets. Pramod Basnet was the highest scorer with 14 runs off 11 balls.
Fishtail´s second win
Fishtail Academy of Pokhara registered second successive win in the Second G4 Cup Open National Volleyball Tournament being held at Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Centre, Balaju on Tuesday.
Fishtail beat New Diamond Academy ´A´ 25-13, 25-19, 25-20 to top group A. New Diamond finished as runners-up.
Both the teams had already secured the quarterfinal berths after the third team BP Koirala Foundation, Ramechhap crashed out from the group. Reshma Bhandari of New Diamond was declared woman-of-the-match for her good performance in the match.
In another match, New Diamond ´B´ defeated PLA Sports Club 25-14, 25-16, 25-20 in group D to keep alive its hope of making it to the quarterfinals. Geeta Chaudhary of PLA was adjudged woman-of-the-match.
