Likewise, Nepal won the ICC U-19 World Cup plate championship in 2006, Emerging Nations Cup in 2003, ACC Premier League in 2006 and ICC World Cricket League Division 5 in 2010. Nepal won all the ACC age group tournaments, except the U-16 Cup, under Dias.
“Coaching in Nepal is quite different from coaching in Oman, I am well aware of it. But I will focus on the system that I worked in -- training the national team while working on building a solid supply line,” asiancricket.org quoted Dias as saying.
“I focus a lot on junior cricket, that´s where you get good cricketers from, who you can groom. I tried this method in Nepal. I focused on age group cricket, and over the years the country began shining in tournaments,” he added.
Dias will be visiting Nepal as Oman´s coach during the ACC Twenty20 Cup to be held in Kathmandu in December.
