A two-day meeting of the RLW, which concluded on Monday, also decided to expand the party’s political organization across the country.
“After the Maoists missed their leftist path, we have felt an urgency to form a separate leftist political party,” said founding member of the RLW Mani Thapa, who was politburo member of the CPN (Maoist) until 2005.
He said the RLW will soon initiate talks with all leftist parties, including Matrika Yadav, to form a strong leftist party in the country.
“The Maoists are communists but not leftists. So we are on our mission to form a real leftist party,” Thapa said.
Yadav, former politburo member of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has quit the party to lead the CPN (Maoist).
The meeting has formed a 23-member central committee of the wing under the chairmanship of Krishna Adhikari.
Vice chairman of the wing is Bhakta Rasaili. Similarly, general secretary, secretary and treasurer are Chetnarayan Shrestha, Govinda Rai and Sailendra Maske, respectively.
Thapa said representatives from Rukum and Rolpa, the Maoist hotbed, also participated in the meeting. He said Jaya Bahadur Gharti, former commander of the Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Rolpa and Chanchal Magar from Rukum attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to make public its protest programs soon to exert pressure on the government. “Our protest programs will be quite peaceful but it will be very forceful,” he said.
