Risky travel along Narayanghat-Mugling road section

KATHMANDU, July 31: Passengers traveling along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section pray to god inside their vehicles as they travel along the landslide-prone area.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Passengers traveling along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section pray to god inside their vehicles as they travel along the landslide-prone area.


The haphazard expansion of the road section has increased the risk of landslides at several places along the route. Landslides hit the road section from Kalikhola to Jalbire almost every day. Passengers are left stranded as the transportation comes to a complete halt after landslides.

Several cliffs and hillsides have been cut haphazardly to widen the road section that connects Kathmandu with the rest of the country. Landslides along the road section have claimed the lives of many passengers on different occasions.
