Among those boycotted are Samundridevi Sah, member of Women´s Rights Protection Network, and Satyanarayan Sah, director of Samaj Bikas Path, who have been accused of beating up their own sister-in-law.
Eight organizations working to protect women´s rights in Dhanusha have jointly decided to disallow them from participating in public functions.
"Women´s rights activist Samundridevi and Satyanarayan are facing charges of violence against a woman. Therefore, they will not be allowed to participated in public programs against violence against women," the decision of the organizations reads.
Among the organizations taking such decision are Women´s Development Office, Women´s Cell of District Police Office, WOREC Nepal, Nepal Family Planning Association, Care Nepal, CAFW, LAC Women´s Help Line and District Women´s Rights Concerned Group.
The two will not be allowed to participate in any programs currently being organized in the district in connection with Women´s Rights Day.
Shyam Giri of Janakpur Good Governance Club said rights workers who themselves engage in abusing rights should be boycotted by the whole society.

Bina lived with her in-laws until a month after her husband committed suicide. She fled to her parents´ home after being brutally beaten up. According to her father Ram Narayan Sah, she is still receiving treatment for head, eye and stomach wounds in India.
