In a statement issued on Thursday, it said it was worrisome that the newsprint that was imported from Canada and South Korea for the publication has been held up at Kolkata port without giving any reason.
"It is equally surprising that the consignment is not being released," the statement said.
AAN has further urged the government and stakeholders concerned to resolve the problem at the earliest, saying that the problem if not resolved soon would make adverse impact on people´s right to information and advertising agencies.
