Rescue operation in Singati resumes despite frequent landslides

DOLAKHA, May 16 : The unsuccessful rescue operation of those buried in the houses that collapsed due to earthquake triggered landslide on Tuesady at Singati of the Dolakha District has resumed once again from Saturday.

A special team of Nepal Army has been carrying out the rope rescue efforts.


In the area a team both from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has also been dispatched.

It is suspected that few of the residents from Chilakha, who had come to the place to collect relief aid have been buried in the same landslide.

Five persons were rescued alive by a team of Army deployed from Barda Bahadur Battalion some days ago.

The rescue operation was halted due to frequent landslide in the area.

Chief District Officer Prem Lal Lamichhane informed that the rescue efforts underway in full swing despite frequent landslides in the area.
