Report on Middle Marsyangdi

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: A sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee of the parliament presented its report to the committee on Middle Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project on Sunday.



The sub-committee has recommended increasing in public participation in the project and forming a "new company" for the project with 50:50 share of Nepal Electricity Authority and the local people. It has recommended 12 percent dividend with another 12 percent preferential shares for the locals.



It has also asked the government to initiate investigation on why the same contractor, whose contract was canceled earlier, was awarded civil contract again.
