KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The country recorded the highest number of real estate transactions this year (fiscal year) in the month of Paush (mid-December to mid-January).
According to the Department of Land Management and Archive (DoLMA) the real estate business witnessed the highest growth in the month of Poush of the current FY.
DoLMA has stated that it has approved 45,777 documents of land ownership. The government collected revenue of Rs 3.20 billion from land ownership transfer revenue.

In the month of Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December), there were a total of 41,851 real estate transactions. The government collected a total of Rs 2.86 billion in revenue from real estate businesses in the month.
Compared to Mangsir, real estate transactions in Paush increased by eight percent.
Real estate business of current FY
According to data provided by DoLMA, 39,263 houses were bought and sold in the month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), the first month of the current FY. The government collected a total revenue of Rs 2.91 billion in the month of Shrawn.
Similarly, 35,686 real estate transactions were recorded in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), with revenue collection of Rs 3.46 billion.
In Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October), 39,881 houses were bought and sold. The government collected a total of Rs 4.87 billion in revenue.
Meanwhile, only 26,046 real estate transactions took place in the month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), according to which the government collected revenue of Rs 2.16 billion.
