RUKUM, Nov 26: Re-election is to be held at two voting centers in Rukum district.
The District Election Commission officials said the re-polling is to be held after the ballot papers cast in the today's voting were destroyed by acid.
The re-election will be held at the Ratna Lower Secondary School voting center at Bafikot rural municipality-5 and at the Gattasaina voting center at Aathbiskot municipality-12 in Rukum (West), the Chief Election Officer for Rukum (West), Kaji Bahadur Rai said.
Rai said re-election will be held at the two polling centers on December 7. Re-polling will take place only for the House of Representatives election at the Ratna Lower Secondary School polling center and for the proportional representation category at the Gattasaina polling center.
It is not known who poured acid in the ballot boxes and the police are searching for the person, Deputy Superintendent of Police for Rukum (West), Rajendra Dhamala said. Acid was reportedly poured into the ballot box at Ratna Lower Secondary School voting center when 250 ballots were cast and at the Gattasaina polling center after 365 ballots were cast. RSS
