KATHMANDU May 15: CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was arrested on Sunday in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, will be presented before the court today. 

Rayamajhi, who is also former Deputy Prime Minister,  was arrested on Sunday night in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam that has thrown Nepal’s political world into chaos. 

Kathmandu’s District Police Range shared that he is being taken to court for an extension of the deadline. Rayamajhi, who was arrested in Budhanilkantha is being detained at the Kathmandu District Police Range in Teku. 

Rayamajhi was arrested on the 11th day after the issuance of his arrest warrant. His son, Sandeep Rayamajhi has already been arrested for his involvement in the scam.
