KATHMANDU, June 5: Maoist activists staged a demonstration in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat on Friday alleging that the ruling UML cadres murdered their party colleague who had showed black flag to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal during a function on Sunday.

Ladai Sah of Pataura VDC died while undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital. However, the chief district officer at Rautahat, Kamaleshor Sinha, categorically rejected the claim that Sah was murdered by UML cadres.

“He was killed during a clash that ensued over a land dispute. The murder has nothing to do with politics,” Sinha told myrepublica.com. According to him, Sah was seriously injured and admitted to Narayani Zonal Hospital last Saturday, a day before Prime Minister Nepal visited Rautahat. “So this is a baseless allegation,” said Sinha.
