Rasuwa Police arrest two in connection with US dollar smuggling

RASUWA, Nov 17: Police on Saturday arrested two persons in Rasuwa in connection with the smuggling the US dollars.


The arrested are Shreeram Chaudhary, aged 53, of Chitwan and Bikas Prasad Chaudhary, aged 32, of Rautahat. DSP Santosh Tamang at the Rasuwa District Police Office informed that they arrested the two with USD 28,600 during a regular security check along the highway at Gosaikunda Rural Municipality when they were travelling in a vehicle.

The duo will be handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation for further investigation, Tamang said.


The two arrested were also found to have obtained a border pass to enter to the Chinese territory, the police officer added.
