Vice president Nanda Bahadur Pun felicitated six personalities with “Nepal Sangeet Tatha Natya Rastriya Pragya Puraskar-2074” amid a special program organized at the premises of his own office on Friday.
According to the press statement issued by Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, the honorees were felicitated for their contribution for more than five decades in the fields of Nepali music, folk dance, folk drama, singing, and folk singing. All awardees were provided with a cash prize of Rs 100,001 and a souvenir.

The awards were presented to Kiran Kharel, Pushpa Ratna Tuladhar, Laxmi Prashad Joshi, Subhadra Adhikari, and Ram Avtar Yadav. Praising the work of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Pun vowed to draw the attention of the government to make the academy even stronger and capable.
Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Bhakta Shrestha informed that the academy had been felicitating different personalities from the past four years to mark the contribution of the artist in the field of Nepali dance, music and drama. Vice-chancellor of the academy, Sambhujeet Baskota said that this felicitation would help the academy connect them with national pride.
