Taking the Twitter handle, PM KP Oli wrote, “I congratulate Rastrakavi Ghimire for his 101st birthday. Hope his works live for many generations. I wish for his good health.”


Rastrakavi Ghimire is widely known as one of the pioneer figures in the Nepali literature for patriotic writings. ‘Gauri’, ‘Himalwaari Himalpaari’, ‘Malati Mangale’, ‘Rajeshwari’, ‘Shakuntala’, and ‘Aswathama’ are his most acclaimed works. Apart from the literary works, Ghimire has also worked as co-editor of Gorkhapatra. He is also an Honorary Brigadier General of Nepal Army.
