The reptile found one month ago resembles a python but has different spots on the body, said chief of the National Nature Conservation Trust, Hemanta Yadav.
The snake is active more at night and is rarely seen in the day, but is much poisonous, said Yadav. He said its habitat is in the open grass land of Nepal.
The NNCT said it can be found up to an altitude of 250 feet to 1,000 feet in the Chure region.
The NNCT quoted IUCN that it can be found in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Taiwan besides Nepal.
Yadav said although it was first seen in the Shuklaphanta, it is not a new species.
