Kaski District Court has remanded four persons, including rapper Ashish Rana 'Laure', in custody for eight days for further investigation of the drug case on Friday. They were caught with brown sugar on Wednesday.
Rapper Laure ordered to be released on Rs 50,000 bail
The District Police Office, Kaski, on Wednesday night arrested Laure, 32; Dhruva Bahadur Thapa, 39; Navin Gurung, 30; and Susmita Gurung, 22.
The police had found 13.01 grams of brown sugar from each of them. According to police, popular rapper Ashish Rana, also known as Laure, has confessed to using drugs.
In case they are only using drugs but not doing any trade, there is a legal provision of one-year imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 10,000. A police source said that he could be jailed for up to five years if found to be trading the drugs.
