Rannvijay Singh Singha: the name says it all. Singha has hosted the popular Indian reality show, “MTV Roadies”, since winning it in 2003, and his popularity has only grown through the years. He came to Kathmandu to host the “MTV Big Blast” that was organized at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu on Friday.

Meeting him at the hotel lobby on Thursday evening, he looked refreshed after a motorbike ride to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot. [break]The tall, dark and handsome Punjabi recalled his way to becoming a roadie in details.

“I was all set to join the army, like my father. I had passed all the examinations, and in between the two-month gap, I decided to audition for Roadies to win the Hero Honda Karizma bike,” he said. He won the bike and attracted a whole lot of female fans, too.

Since then, he has hosted six editions of the show and is set to host the 8th one of the Hero Honda Roadies.

“I was only 20 when I started out, and it was challenging for me to tell the participants what to do, being equal to or younger than their age,” mentioned Singha.

But since he performs all the stunts before asking the participants to do so, he has been successful as a host.

An adventurous guy with a penchant for motorbikes, the 27-years-old has also acted in a number of Hindi movies. He was seen in “London Dreams” with Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, and Asin Thottumkal.

“I would love to do a film with Amitabh Bachchan and Neetu Singh,” mentioned the budding actor whose upcoming releases include “Action Replay” with Akshay Kumar, “Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene” with Zayed Khan, and “Ekant” with Imaad Shah.

Singha was also a basketball player and was in nine Indian national competitions.

“I’ve always believed in hard work, and luck favors the ones who work hard.”

His connection to Nepal is not new.

“I had a lot of Nepali friends in school because I went to nine of them, and even while studying at Hansraj College, I made plenty of Nepali friends,” shared the commerce graduate.

“I loved the bike ride to Nagarkot, and if things work out, I would love to ride from Kathmandu to Delhi,” he added.

Claiming to be single for the last two years, he said that he was willing to host “Roadies” as long as the producers wanted him to.

“I believe that a VJ needs to feel young, and age doesn’t matter. I’ll be young as long as I can ride a motorbike.”
