KATHMANDU, June 16: Bhawani Rana, the immediate past president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has been appointed as the honorary consul of Tunisia to Nepal.


Rana received the letter of appointment from Hayet Talbi EP Bilel, non-resident ambassador of Tunisia to Nepal, in a program organized at a hotel in Kathmandu on Thursday.

After receiving the appointment letter, Rana said that she would play a role in expanding the relationship between the two countries. "I will facilitate the promotion of tourism along with the social and economic strengthening of both countries," she said, while stating that bilateral trade between the two countries can be expanded further.


Rana said that since Tunisia is connected to European countries, it will be easy for Nepal to expand its trade towards Europe. In the program, the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nepal EP Bilel opined that there is a possibility of investment between the two countries in agriculture, tourism, energy and a number of other areas.
