Ramesh BG elected president of National Folk Song Academy

The seventh general convention of National Folk and Duet Song Academy Nepal has elected Ramesh BG as the president for the next term.

The seventh general convention of National Folk and Duet Song Academy Nepal has elected Ramesh BG as the president for the next term. The general convention was held in Pokhara from November 22 to 24. BG outpaced his closest contender  Bishnu Khatri for the post by 39 votes.

He polled 584 votes while Khatri bagged 545 votes in the election held on Sunday. The result of the election was announced late night the same day.


Similarly, Raju Dhakal has been elected the Treasurer, Ishwari Prasad Bhusal the Joint Treasurer and Krishna Reule the Administrative Secretary. Jeevan Dahal, Ramesh Raj Bhattarai, Kulendra Bishwakarma, Hari Dangi, Prachanda GC, Basanta Thapa, and Pushkal Sharma are elected the Secretary under the open category.


Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Subba Gurung had inaugurated the general convention.
