KATHMANDU, May 17: Ramadan, a very important festival of the Muslims began today.
During this festival, the faithful observe a month-long fasting from sunrise to sunset. The Muslims have seri in the morning before the sighting of the sun and then have iftahar after sunset, according to former member-secretary of National Muslim Commission Shumsher Miyan.
Those observing the fast also recite the sacred Namaj and involve themselves in other religious activities.
Ramadan also encourages the Muslims to recite the Namaj and dedicate to support others in need. The festival ends with the celebration of Id festival at the end of the month. RSS
