‘Rajendra Lakshmi’, a drama produced by Aesthetic Dance Studio of Kathmandu is all set to be showcased at Ranga Shankara Theater Festival, India. According to a press statement by the Studio, the drama has been officially selected for the festival and is scheduled to be staged on Sunday in Bangalore.
The statement further stated that Ranga Shankara Theater located in the southern part of Bangalore is one of the well-known theaters in India, and it has showcased over 2,700 performances since its inception. ‘Rajendra Lakshmi’ is a widely admired Nepali dance drama directed by Namrata KC. The dance drama narrates the story of Rajendra Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah who was married to King Pratap Singh Shah, one of King Prithvi Narayan Shah’s sons and is believed to have played a large role in continuing her father-in-law’s conquests in the 18th Century to give shape to the current day Nepal.
Theaters back into operation
The 13-member drama crew is traveling to Bangalore this week, led by theatrical producer Som Nath Khanal and managed by Biskash Budhathoki, according to the press statement.
