RAJBIRAJ, June 21: Private colleges in Rajbiraj, the district headquarters of Saptari, have using names of foreign educational institutions to attract more students.

Some of them, which are registered with the Higher Secondary Education board under different names, have been using such names to create a false impression among students.[break]

For instance, Gautam Sishu Sadan has been running +2 classes under the name of Galaxy International College while Srijana Boarding Higher Secondary School, situated in Rajbiraj-1, has been running for two years under the false name of Mission College.

Ironically, Rajbiraj is the home town of HSEB vice chairman Hem Kumar Mishra.

Likewise, another school registered as Golden Higher Secondary School, has been enrolling students for higher secondary level under the false name of Caliber International College.

Arun Kumar Yadav, the principal of Golden Higher Secondary School, said that his college has been running under the name of Caliber International College.

Chandan Kumar Yadav, a student leader, said the trend of colleges using foreign names to cheat students is on the rise in the district. He also accused the HSEB of not doing anything to stop such unscrupulous practice.

HSEB vice chair Mishra had expressed his commitment to take action against such colleges two years ago. However, the colleges continue to use foreign-sounding names to cheat students.
