KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has urged one and all to take necessary precautions since the incessant rainfall could increase the flow of water in the rivers.

As the water level in Koshi, Narayani, Karnali and Babai rivers is around the danger level, the DHM has requested people especially those living in the river basins to remain alert as water level is likely to reach beyond danger level in these river basin areas.

The water level in Mahakali River is also around the danger level, the DHM said. Similarly, the water level in Kankai, kamala, Purbi Rapti, Paschim Rapti and its tributaries is below the danger level and in normal condition, said the Department.

The flow of water in rivulets flowing in and around Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Kaski, Lamjung, Myagdi, Bajura, Surkhet, Dailekh, Achham, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Dadheldhura, Bajhang, Baitadi and Darchula is normal, said the DHM.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast that the monsoon rain will continue for a few more days across the country.

Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane shared that the weather across the country would remain cloudy and there would be rainfall today.

Compared to last Saturday and Sunday, there will be less rainfall today but the rainfall on Wednesday will be heavier than Monday and Tuesday.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in hilly areas in Sudur Paschim Province while a few places in the hilly areas in the Province could see heavy rainfall.

Likewise, some places in Koshi and Gandaki Province and very few places in remaining provinces will experience light to moderate rainfall tonight.
