KATHMANADU, March 10: The match between Nepal and Hong Kong under the triangular T20I series has been called off due to rain.
After losing the toss against Nepal at their home ground, Mong Kok, Hong Kong, who were invited to bat first, lost 2 wickets in 8 overs and scored 65 runs.
Hong Kong, the Pearl of the Orient, will shine again
Earlier, after the completion of 5 overs, it started raining. However, the game was resumed after a while only to be stopped again, just before the completion of 3 more overs. It started raining again after the end of eight overs, forcing the umpires to declare the match canceled.
For Nepal, Karan KC took the wicket on the first ball. Hong Kong's Martin Coetzee was caught out by Gulshan Jha who later bowled out Nizakat Khan for a personal score of 25 runs.
Earlier, in the only match of the Friendship Cup, Nepal was defeated by Hong Kong by 73 runs on Saturday. Nepal will now play against Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.
