Rabid dog menace in Gaighat village

GAIGHAT, Oct 18: Rabid dogs have created menace at Bokse and surrounding areas of Triyuga Municipality-1 in Udayapur, killing a woman.

GAIGHAT, Oct 18: Rabid dogs have created menace at Bokse and surrounding areas of Triyuga Municipality-1 in Udayapur, killing a woman. 


Local resident Manasari Rai, 70, was killed and another 10-year-old Rejina Rai has been injured in the past one week in rabid dog-bite incidents, police said.

Likewise, two cows died after being bitten by dog, said local inhabitant Raj Kumar Rai. 


Meanwhile, local people have been terrified by the menace of the dog fearing contracting rabies as 'some of them have consumed milk of the cow that was bitten by rabid dogs.' 


Those at risk of contracting rabies were being administered anti-rabies vaccination by a doctors' team from the District Hospital, police said. 


In the meantime, police have launched a campaign to kill the street dogs at risk of contracting rabies. RSS
