Qatar's Special Envoy Al Daffas pays courtesy call on Forest Minister Thakuri

Badar Omar Ismail Al Daffas, Qatar's Special Envoy for Climate Change and Sustainability from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri.

KATHMANDU, May 17: Badar Omar Ismail Al Daffas, Qatar's Special Envoy for Climate Change and Sustainability from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri.


The meeting took place today at the Sagarmatha Sambaad venue, where the two discussed a range of issues of mutual interest between the two countries, according to the Ministry.

On the occasion, Minister Shahi highlighted the potential for a long-term strategic partnership between Nepal and Qatar in the areas of forestry and environment, technology transfer, pollution control, and innovation.


Minister Shahi also stated that Nepal will initiate the official correspondence within a month to proceed with the process of gifting a pair of elephants to the Government of Qatar, as previously announced. Special Envoy Al Daffas expressed his gratitude for the gesture.
