Qatar embassy established in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The Government of Qatar has established its embassy here after 35 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.



The embassy was established as residential embassy which will start its work formally from October 9.[break]



Financial Controller of the Embassy, Eyad Hamdan, told RSS that Qatar-Nepal relation is harmonious and added that the government of Qatar established the embassy to further strengthen the relations.



Stating that the embassy will be operated within a few days with the preparation to provide consular service including visa, Hamdan said demand of Nepali workers is high in Qatar.



According to statistics of the Department of Foreign Employment, now more than 400,000 Nepalis are working in Qatar.



Now, the number of diplomatic missions in Nepal has reached 27 with the establishment of the Qatar Embassy. Similarly, Saudi Arabia has also established an embassy here on the charge de´ affairs level.
