KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Qatar Airways has launched world’s longest commercial flight from Doha to Auckland.
Issuing a statement, the airline said that it takes around 17 hours and 30 minutes to cover a distance of 14,535 kilometers between Auckland and Doha. According to the company, its Boeing 777, configured to fly 42 in business class and 217 in economy class, will be used for the Dubai-Auckland flight.
The statement further added that Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, travelled on the inaugural flight from Doha to Auckland.
