Pulitzer Prize Winner Kai Bird, behind 'Oppenheimer' fame, to attend Nepal Literature Festival 2024

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: World famous Hollywood film 'Oppenheimer' famous writer and Pulitzer Prize winner Kai Bird is coming to Nepal to participate in Nepal Literature Festival-2024.

He is going to participate in the festival to be held in Pokhara from February 15 to 19. The film is based on Bird's famous book 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer'.

Bird's book will be discussed at the festival. According to festival organizer Mimansha Dhungel, journalist Kunda Mani Dixit will discuss the journey from book to film with author Bird.

Bird will return after the festival. Bird won the Pulitzer Prize in 2006 for the book. "Oppenheimer" is nominated in 13 categories of this year's Oscar Awards. This film also earned well at the Nepali box office.

Chandrahans Chaudhary, the author of famous novels like 'Cloud' and 'Arji the Dwarf' and famous writer Janice Parriot will also come to participate in the festival.
