Pudasaini elected as HURPES president

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Uttam Pudasaini has been elected as the new president of Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) Nepal.

A national council meeting of the society held in Biratnagar elected the 27-member central working committee under the leadership of Pudasaini, the organization said in a press release on Sunday.

Govinda Khanal was elected as senior vice president, Bishnu Prasad Chapagain as vice president, Renuka Poudel as female vice president, Sushila Basnet as general secretary of the organization.

Similarly, former presidents Homkanta Chaulagain and immediate past president Gangadhar Adhikari were picked as advisors. Over 300 peace workers attended the two-day council meeting.
