Public aspiration for development does not cease: PM Oli

MAHOTTARI, Aug 16: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said people's aspiration for development would not cease because the government works untiringly to meet their aspiration. 



Prime Minister Oli stated that the government has focused its efforts on meeting the needs and developmental aspirations of the citizens. He made this remark during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Raghunathpur-Sonma-Tarhari-Sundarpur road, held in Raghunathpur of Sonma Rural Municipality-3 on Friday.


"Development activities are given a fast pace in a way to make those visible to the people," he said, reminding that the remaining task of the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion was continued for the irrigation in Rautahat, Sarlahi and Mahottari districts. Even the construction of the Sunkoshi-Kamala Diversion would be forwarded for irrigation in additional districts in the eastern belt of Madhesh, he shared.

The Prime Minister further shared updates on various development projects, including the construction of a postal highway, the expansion of the East-West Highway to a six-lane road that meets Asian standards, and a four-lane road connecting district headquarters to the East-West Highway. 


He mentioned that the installation of 500 deep borings has been accelerated due to the drought conditions in the Madhes districts. Additionally, he highlighted the government's efforts to expand international relations, emphasizing the importance of cooperation. According to PM Oli, relations with neighboring countries have been strengthened and have become more trustworthy. 


"We maintain close and friendly relations with our neighboring countries, prioritizing bilateral interests in our interactions. Important issues for Nepal are discussed as a priority during my visits," PM Oli stated while informing about his upcoming trips to India and China.


The Prime Minister also addressed the need for educational development in the Madhesh Province, stressing that a conducive environment for children's schooling must be ensured. He emphasized the significant role of teachers in this effort. 


The best practice of a federal democratic republic leads the country towards progress. Chief Minister and the ministers of Madhesh Province also attended the event.
