KATHMANDU, Oct 1: The provision of five vice-chairmen has been proposed in the first statute convention of the CPN-UML that is currently underway in Lalitpur.
Earlier, the UML had four vice-chairmen and discussions were carried out regarding the amendment in the number of the post. Initially, Chairman KP Sharma Oli had proposed to have three vice-chairmen whereas Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel had proposed three vice-chairmen and seven secretaries in the central committee meeting.

Similarly, a proposal has been made to amend the statute to pave the way to have six secretaries. At present, the UML has five secretaries.
A 225-member central committee including central office bearers has also been proposed.
Meanwhile, the post of Deputy Secretary General has not been proposed in the statute amendment proposal. At present, the UML has two deputy general secretaries.
