Provincial lawmaker Oli cremated

LAMAHI, Feb 23: Province 5 State Assembly member Uttar Kumar Oli who succumbed to injuries sustained from the road incident some three weeks ago was cremated today. He was 34. 

The final rites were conducted on the bank of Bagarkhola (river) at Dangisharan rural municipality-6. He was elected to the SA from the Dang constituency 3 (B). 

(Federal Parliament) Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, province 5 chief minister Shankhar Pokharel, and speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti, political leaders and cadres were in attendance to pay last tribute to him. The chief minister, in his message of condolence at this sad moment, said the untimely and unexpected demise of member Oli caused a big loss to the province government. He remembered Oli's significant contribution to the development of mainly western Dang. 

Oli had been severely injured as his car (Ba 18 Cha 6836) and a passenger bus ( Na Kha 5529) collided on February 7 near Chispani of Ghorahi-3. He had been taken to the central capital and admitted to the Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur. According to doctors involved in his treatment, he suffered severe head and leg injuries in the accident which had its impact on his heart as well. 

He is survived by his spouse and two sons. The mortal body of Oli was brought to his home district by a helicopter on Friday. Prior to that, the body was kept at the Nepal Communist Party (NCP)central office where Prime Minister and NCP Chair KP Sharma Oli , sitting ministers, several political leaders and cadres reached to pay him last tributes.  RSS
