BUTWAL, Dec 3: The winter session of the Provincial Assembly of Province 5 is set to begin from December 12. A cabinet meeting of the Provincial Assembly held on Monday decided to request the governor of the Province 5 to this effect.
The cabinet meeting held today decided to request the Governor of Province 5 Umakanta Jha to start the winter session on December 12 at 1 pm, said Minister for Physical Infrastructure Baijanath Chaudhary, who is also the spokesperson of the Council of Ministers.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel and chief secretary will hand over a letter to Governor Jha, requesting him to begin the session accordingly.
Winter session of parliament falls uncertain
Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting also approved to table a bill and work procedure in the provincial assembly meeting.
Today’s meeting approved the bill on provincial cooperatives and internal work procedure regarding public procurement.
The meeting also decided to recommend the central government to merge Dhikhapur of Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan City-8 with Ward No. 9 of the local unit.
The summer session of the provincial assembly of Province 5 had come to an end on August 9.
The first and second sessions had endorsed a total of 15 different laws. The provincial government has already approved to submit 14 bills in the winter session of the assembly meeting.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, the Province 5 has planned to enact around 100 laws this year.
