Province 1 gov expansion: Three ministers from Maoist Center inducted in cabinet

BIRATNAGAR, Jan 12: Province 1 Chief Minister (CM) Hikmat Kumar Karki has expanded his cabinet by adding two ministers from the Maoist Center and one from the CPN-UML.

Before taking the vote of confidence today, he appointed Jeevan Acharya and Durga Chapagain of the Maoist Center and Buddhikumar Raj Bhandari from CPN-UML as ministers.

Earlier, CM Karki had formed a four-member cabinet. CM Karki is preparing to take a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly today. A provincial assembly meeting has been called for 1PM today for the purpose. Karki, who was appointed the CM on Sunday with the support of 60 members of the provincial assembly, needs to get at least 47 votes in the assembly.

CM Karki has said that after receiving the vote of confidence, he will complete the cabinet
