Direction Nepal, the manager for the event, said at a press conference that the three-day expo will feature some 50 exhibitors related to property, construction and housing sector. [break]
“Himal Steel Nepal Property Expo 2009 will address all those people are interested to invest in this sector but have been clueless on where to go,” Trilokeswor Malla, MD of Direction Nepal, told the press conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Rup Jyoti, the vice chairman of Jyoti Group -- the parent company of Himal Steel, said the property market had been going through a lot of changes in the past decade, from simple plotting to developing infrastructure and apartments and that it was time for the well management of the sector to keep pace with the expansion. “I hope this event will help potential customers and suppliers to connect and identify each other.”
Terming the development of the sector phenomenal, Govinda Pandey, the senior consultant at FNCCI, said Nepali housing companies had hit the jackpot by combining traditional Nepali emotional attachment for property and roof in Kathmandu with global trend of apartments. “Apartments have combined the three most important factor people look from a house -- round the clock security, water and electricity.”
Meanwhile Rajan Karmacharya, the managing director of First Kathmandu, said this was the third edition of the event, which has already been organized in New York (in December last year) and Sydney in June. He also told myrepublica.com that the event in New York had generated Rs 2.5 billion in business. Karmacharya also revealed that another such event would be held simultaneously in Japan and Korea.
Karmacharya said one of the highlights of the three-day event would be the announcement of apartments at Rs 1.3 million and Rs 1.8 million during the event. Tickets for the event have been priced at Rs 50.
