KATHMANDU, June 29: Surendra Bhandari, the main promoter of the Shree Laligurans Multipurpose Cooperative Society based in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, has been arrested.
He was apprehended by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division in Baluwatar on Friday night.
Bhandari, who is also the head of the Central Cooperative Department of the Nepali Congress, had been absconding after the misappropriation of the cooperative's savings.
Laliguras is also on the list of cooperatives being investigated by a parliamentary special committee for fraud.
