“The social harmony theme is important both for humanity and as a whole for highlighting the value of our diverse cultures,” said Dr Gurung at the workshop -- ´Museum For Social Harmony´ -- organized by The National Museum and the Department of Archaeology.
He also complained that the government is not serious about the development of museums and it has become the most neglected part. Meanwhile Dr Aryal explored the concept of museums as mirrors of society´s culture.
On the other hand Professor Dr Peshal Dahal commented that the museum is education and raising interest, rather than just collecting and preserving. One of the participants Dr Saphalya Amatya asked why the museums were not projected as cross-cultures and cross-subjects.
Dr Bishnu Raj Karki, Director General of Department of Archaeology said that cultural policy is also in pipeline which will give the new dimension to the culture and museum. This is the national issue which the media should cover.
Modraj Dotel, Secretary at the Ministry of Constituent Assembly, Parliamentary System & Culture said that the national policy for museum is in pipeline to develop the interrelation of both museum and society.
