POKHARA, March 26: A probe team led by Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kaski Chet Nath Bhattarai will investigate the death of a patient, who was admitted at the Western Regional Hospital for appendicitis surgery.

Ganga Dhakal, 26, of Faparthum-6, Syangja had died last Sunday four days after she was anesthetized for the surgery. [break]

The relatives of the victim had on Monday complained to the District Administration Office that she died due to negligence of the hospital doctors.

The family, claiming that the hospital had first said that Dr Darbin Lamichhane had conducted the operation and later said that Dr Krishna Gopal Shrestha had done the surgery, had been protesting against the death at the hospital for the past two days.

Spokesperson of the hospital Dr Lumeshwar Acharya said the probe committee will start investigation after conducting autopsy of the body Tuesday.
