The Association said that its first-phase agitation was launched from Monday to pile pressure on the government.
Acting Chairman of the Association, Prof Dr Suresh Kumar Kanaudiya said that private sector medical colleges would be closed automatically if the 11-point agreement signed between government and Dr Govinda KC on September 5 was implemented. He said that the government should take responsibility to operate the private medical colleges.
He said that over 900 students would be deprived of their MBBS course if the report prepared by Kedar Bhakta Mathema-led taskforce was implemented.
The five-point demands include giving affiliation to those medical colleges that got license from Education Ministry and monitored by the Nepal Medical Council, implementing the Mathema report after further study, among others. RSS
