Prime Minister Oli urges Chand-led group to join peaceful politics by mid-April

KATHMANDU, March 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday urged the Netra Bikram Chand-led group to join the mainstream peaceful politics by mid-April.


Addressing a meeting of the Nepal Communist Party's Parliamentary Party, the prime minister said that the government would be forced to control all the activities of the Chand-led group if it did not come to sit for talks with the government by renouncing the violent activities.

"I urge the Chand-led group to sit for talks with the government as early as possible. It's a good opportunity for the group to renounce all the violent activities and join the peaceful mainstream politics," Oli said.


Stating that the government is making all efforts to maintain law and order situation in the country, Prime Minister Oli said that nobody has right to disturb peace and harmony in the society.


On a separate note, Prime Minister Oli said that the long-delayed unification process of the ruling Nepal Communist Party at the district and local levels will take final shape immediately after NCP co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal returns home from the United States.
