KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli unveiled the Nepal Premier League (NPL) trophy. He unveiled the trophy from the Dharahara complex.
In a program held at Dharahara on Monday morning, Prime Minister Oli unveiled the trophy for the Nepal Premier League (NPL), which is set to begin on December 1. The trophy unveiling ceremony was attended by Minister for Sports Tejulal Chaudhary, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council Tank Lal Ghising, President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Chaturbahadur Chand, Secretary Paras Khadka, and other officials.
The Dharahara Debate
The upcoming tournament, which will be held in Kathmandu until January 6, will feature eight teams. Marky players from all eight teams were present at the unveiling ceremony. The trophy unveiled today includes a stone from Kala Patthar, the base camp of Mount Everest. The inclusion of the stone from Kala Patthar is meant to send a message to the world about the importance of preserving the Himalayas.
The eight franchise teams of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) are Kathmandu Gurkhas, Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bulls, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpaschim Royals.
