KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Chairman of the Oil-led faction of the ruling Nepal Communist party (NCP), KP Sharma Oli has issued directives for immediately reconstituting all party committees at the district and the people's organization levels.
Addressing a gathering of leading party workers from NCP Nuwakot and who are available in Kathmandu, today, he urged the party leaders and workers to go to the people's doorsteps and become active as the date for fresh election has already been announced with the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
"I urge all not to doubt if the elections will take place. I request all to be united and involved in the party purification campaign for the right principles we have adopted and for the prosperity of the nation," Oli said.
Stating that the party has adopted the ideology of "people's democracy" on the guidance of the main thought of "people's multi-party democracy" at present and this could be gradually revised, Oli claimed that those seeking to split the party did not have any ideology.
He charged that some leaders (indicating at rival faction leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal) were trying to misguide the youths but the government and the party was in favor of peaceful political activities. "We do not believe in violence but believe in people. There would not be any irregularities now in the name of combatants' funds or election unlike in the past," Oli asserted.
At the program, NCP Nuwakot's leader Keshav Raj Pandey said the party will organize a district-level program in Nuwakot on February 1.
